Just wondering... How does a marriage that produced a child get anulled? Am I hopelessly behind and ignorant, or does that seem wrong?

I saw Rick Warren's new book "How to Study the Bible" one of the reviewers said "Everybody says you ought to study the Bible, but no one tells you how...until Rick came along. If you've wondered where Rick Warren learned all those insights that he wrote in Purpose Driven Life - these are the methods he used.
If you loved Purpose Driven Life, you know the importance of finding the truth for yourself, not just accepting it from someone else. This book will help you do it - step by step." Hmmm...Interesting. Much could be said about that review....
As far as the annulment goes I've always wondered what the point was. Whats the difference? Married people no longer living together? Sounds like divorce to me.

Purpose Driven hemeneutics... I seriously might have to read that. People keep telling me I take the Bible too literally. I think Warren has the cure for that.

It had to make do with intellectual dwarves like Peter, Paul, John, Luther, Calvin, MacArthur, etc.
I expect Benny Hinn to invite Rick to tour with him soon. Imagine this: "TONIGHT: Purpose-Driven Healing Service (Bring Your Check Book)"

Speaking of Christian books and anulling children. i read something today about a couple going through infertility in the 80's and I will do my best to quote them, "Since there weren't any books about the subject from a Christian ethics standpoint, we had to pray through each step." That struck me as somewhat of an odd way to say it. if there were a book on the subject you wouldn't have to pray? Is the plethora of Christian books today a substitute for going to God? I say that somewhat in jest, being a writer myself, but still, maybe Rick and all the rest have made it "so easy" we hardly need God anymore.

Here's a theological question for y'all...my 6-year old son asked this morning, "Dad, is prayer more important than the Bible?" He is not asking if it is more important to pray than to read the Bible, but is prayer itself more important than the Bible itself.
My wife and I have answered as best we could, but I'm interested in what Lame World has to say. Especially you theologians out there (Paul, etc.).

David,
The little one asks a good question about prayer. We believe prayer is important because the Bible tells me so. This is a good time and age to ask him why he believes prayer is important and then explain to him that the only way we know how to pray is through the instruction given in the Bible. A great place to start is the Lord's Prayer in Matt. 6. We say it every night with our little ones even though the concepts behind it might not be clear for years to come. So in the plainest way possible show him that you need both like a hand in a glove.

Thanks for the insight. The "hand-glove" analogy is what we used as well. We will start working through the Lord's Prayer with him and identifying the key elements of prayer contained therein.
Oksana and I are working on Bible memorization with the children as well. We recite Psalm 91 with the kids in Russian every night; we started that with Andy and are doing so with Val now.
By the way...next Sunday, we plan to visit Capitol Hill Baptist. We went into DC this evening to do some looking around and try to find the church. We went across the wrong bridge and ended up at the Lincoln Memorial via Georgetown. I'll keep you informed.
