She's back!

You might remember that we reported back in February that postmodern darling, Anne Lamott thought abortion was a moral necessity. Now ye olde trap has flown open again and she reports how she not only agrees with assisted suicide but has helped others with killing themselves. Her reasoning is thus:
"Mel was sort of surprised that as a Christian I so staunchly agreed with him about assisted suicide: I believed that life was a kind of Earth school, so even though assisted suicide meant you were getting out early, before the term ended, you were going to be leaving anyway, so who said it wasn't OK to take an incomplete in the course?"If your mind needs a bath after reading her article, you can go here.

Paul,
I have a question, if I may, on the 14 June post. What's the significance of the wolf leaping over the sheep?
Though we leave for Virginia on Thursday, I will check in here for stimulating topics from time to time. And to encourage you with a resounding ROLL TIDE from afar.

Thanks David,
We don't mind your checking in every now and then. As for the wolf/sheep pic, it depicts wolves having a field day among the sheep which is what they have done in certain denominations (like the one sited in the article ).

On the original topic, am I the only one that wonders if I should drop the term Christian or at least find an adjective to add? It seems that word has become meaningless in our culture. "Yes I can knowingly disobey and disagree with EVERYTHING Christ taught, but I am still a Christian." It is almost enough to make one pray for persecution to break out so that claiming the name of Christ comes with a cost.

Bob,
I think you're very right. Words like christian, evangelical, and conservative seem to be open-ended in such a way that if everything is right then nothing is.
